Amtgard Sling

Postby Cadogan » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:58 am

Is there any rule (local or otherwise) about using a 1 handed sling (not a slingshot) to fire spellball-like projectiles in amtgard? If not i would imagine the only requirement would be the ability to use throwing weapons. I would really appreciate being able to return fire on archers

Is there anything actually illegal than leather sling, cause im pretty sure i have one laying around, i cant think of anything that would be less legal than a bow.

You could just learn to throw like a man.

[fairy tale]
Well but David took down Goliath with a sling and a stone

Yeah, David was a little girl who needed a sling to do so.

Im laughing too hard at the fairy tale thing. Ok how about Perseus's sling, thats not a fairy tale, thats a myth. But you're right i could learn to throw like a man. I should also single dagger fight like a man, my sword and board is merely a crutch.

You don't swing a bow rapidly around in a 10 foot circle every time you want to fire it...

David v. Goliath would not be categorized as a fairy tale, regardless of faith or belief.

Why not? It contains all the normal parts of a fairy tale. Protagonist, antagonist, conflict, resolution. It has surprises, suspense, and it was a nice story. Don't get me wrong, I think that David Vs. Goliath is an excellent parable, but that's all it is.

It's too bad we can't resurrect the authors. Hallmark would make a fortune off all the free zombie labor.

Where are they? I can't really tell you where they are...I can however tell you they are not. For certain there are no fairies in Sodom or Gomorrah.

And while I could be part of parables I won't be in any fables any time soon. Unless you plan on doing some anthropomorphizing.

the only thing you have to worry about is hitting someone in the face with it and actually being able to hit something cause I recall you almost nutting yourself with that sling.

That can't be true. You can buy ANYTHING in Vegas. They have to be there somewhere. I mean with half the crap I have seen there I would be willing to bet money you could find them somewhere in there.

I mean the show I saw at Treasure Island had Sirens and Pixies. Faries got to be somewhere close.
