Ranger class

This is my first run through of making a class

Ranger
Garb: Crossing green and brown sashes, must wear a hood.
Armor: 1
Shields: None
Weapons: Short swords, short/long bows, throwing weapons.
Immunities: Traps
Lives: 4
Abilities:

Level 1 Entangle Arrow 1/life

Level 2 Stealth 1/life
Healing Herbs 1/life

Level 3 May wear up to 2 pionts of armor
Friend of the Woods

Level 4 Entangle Arrow 2/life
Penitration Arrow 1/life

Level 5 Stealth 2/life
Healing Herbs 2/life

Level 6 Total lives goes up to 5
Lord of the Wilds

Entangle Arrow (Brown strip attached to arrow) "Entangle Arrow" x5 Contral Magic
On hit effect as if hit by an Entangle spell ball.

Stealth "Hiding from view" x5 Non-Magic
Works like Teleport but may move anywhere the Ranger wishes and my pick up non-battlegame items. Must constently say "Hiding" as long as Stealth is still in effect. If the Ranger no longer wishes to have Stealth in effect then he must stop saying "Hiding" and may be effected normaly. Has no time limit. If Tracked then Stealth is no longer in effect and may be attacked.

Healing Herbs "May these Herbs cure your wounds" x5 Non-Magic
Heals all wounds and cures target of Poisen. Must touch target to take effect. Can not move while casting.

Friend of the Woods
Ranger may not be attacked or be the hostile target of Fray monsters. Ranger can be healed or enchanted by Fray monsters. If Ranger attacks Fray monster then that monster may attack Ranger.

Lord of the Wilds
Ranger may not be attacked by not be attacked by Magical or Non-magical animal type monsters. Ranger may be healed or enchanted by Magical or Non-magical animal type monsters. If Ranger attacks Magical or Non-magical animal type monster then that monster may attack the Ranger.
It just as simple as that...

So you've taken some of the best stuff from Healer, Scout and Assassin; Put it together without any of the lesser stuff and are expecting it to be balanced?

Well I wanted to make it the average of a few classes with some quest fun included.

Yes the healing thing may be a bit much. It has none of the immunities as Scout or the diversities of Assassin.

No morn... It has less than half of the types of arrows as Archer with less armor and no shield or bonus bow damage.
It just as simple as that...

Weapons: Short swords, No Class is ever limited to only shorts give them at least long weapons also. short/long bows There is no longbows any more. Only the ability of Longbow, that archers get to increase their damage. Not need here. , throwing weapons.
Immunities: Traps
Lives: 4
Abilities:

Level 1 Entangle Arrow 1/life

Level 2 Stealth 1/life
Healing Herbs 1/life

Level 3 May wear up to 2 pionts of armor
Friend of the Woods

Level 4 Entangle Arrow 2/life
Penitration Arrow 1/life <--- A 6th level Archer ability, No other class should have other 6th level abilities.

Level 5 Stealth 2/life
Healing Herbs 2/life

Level 6 Total lives goes up to 5
Lord of the Wilds

Entangle Arrow (Brown strip attached to arrow) "Entangle Arrow" x5 Contral Magic
On hit effect as if hit by an Entangle spell ball.

Stealth "Hiding from view" x5 Non-Magic Like Telaport, This should have a dispelling chant. Otherwise people could use it to back stab someone with out a chance to defend themselves.

Healing Herbs "May these Herbs cure your wounds" x5 Non-Magic BROKEN. Faster then a heal, Better then a heal. The two negitives you have are already apart of magic and not an balancing effect. Just give them Heals.

MY two cents. Just remember that if V8 passes this will all have to change. No lives, No special class effects.

also use spell check...stealth is basically the same as the monster ability "sneak" from the Dor so instead of creating a new spell look at "sneaking" and see if it will work basically the same.

Not trying to troll... But WTF is a "Fray" Monster? Do you mean Fey?

The class seems to be a cross between scout and assassin. Both classes are viable on their own. You can use scout and just RP as a "Ranger".

Level 3
May wear up to 2 pionts of armorUp to two points of armor may now be worn (T)
Friend of the Woods (T)

Level 4
Entangle Arrow becomes (2/life)
Bow is concideredLongbow (T)- Already in the RoP

Level 5
Stealth Blend becomes (2/life) - This might need to be per 2/game at first then upgrade to 1/life, but I am not sure
Healing Herbs becomes (2/life)

Level 6
Total lives goes up to 5Total lives increase to 5 (T)
Lord of the Wilds (T)

Entangle Arrow (Brown strip attached to arrow) "Entangle Arrow" x5 Contral Subdual Magic
On hit effect as if hit by an the Entangle spell ball.

Blend (pg 10 Dor Un Avathar)
I: Repeat x10 “Forest hide and protect me.” To end the effect repeat
x2 “Forest release me”
E: You are considered out of the game. You may move anywhere you
like, as long as you remain within 50 feet of a tree. When you
wish to return to the game, recite the phrase to end the effect.
L: If you go more then 50 feet from a tree, you cannot recite the
phrase to end the effect until you are again within 50 feet of a tree.
Someone within 20 feet can use Tracking to “dispel” this ability.


Healing Herbs
R: Touch
I: "May these Herbs heal thy sickness" x5 Non-Magic
E: Cures target of all piosens and other negitive non-magic effects. Must touch target to take effect. Removes all poison and level-drain effects from target
L: Cannot move while casting.

Friend of the Woods
Ranger may not be attacked or be the hostile target of Fray monsters. Ranger can be healed or enchanted by Fray monsters. If Ranger attacks Fray monster then that monster may attack Ranger.
E: Due to respect and awe for the Ranger, all Fey monsters will not attack the caster.
L: If the caster attacks or casts magic at a Fey monster who is affected by Friend of the Woods, that person may
ignore the affects of the Ranger's Friend of the Woods for the rest of the game.
N: Players that are Berserk ignore Friend of the Woods.
- Based on the Bardic neutral Presence

Lord of the Wilds
As per Friend of the Woods, except also affects monsters with the Animal subtype
