In addition to Westmarch issues, we need to discuss for our land:

  • PO Box, keys
  • Bank account, specifically a free one without a minimum daily balance four or five what Wyvern's typically has
  • Cash flow (AKA expanding PM's duties)

So far:

#1 - would cost us $36/6 months at Albany (Berkeley seems to cost more)
#2 - BofA has an online only offer
#3 - years back, there were drink sales listed in the cash register. Was this an individual doing this, or official Pm duties? (I can do either way - but I'd like to have a plan for the future)

edits - from the deepest depths of my black heart, I despise BBcode.

I hadn't - I spent 5 seconds thinking about online banking with our current bank, and dropped the idea since people don't always update passwords. Don't want too many people with easy access in a few years.

Washington Mutual offers free checking. Wavehaven has used them for years.

I might be able to get another free student account.
Increased cashflow might be a fundraiser/demo somewhere like the Cal campus. Or I might be able to get us sponsered as a club. I don't know want Cals policies on clubs are.

It's not that we're particularly low on funds, it's just really sad to look at the ledger and see 5 months in a row of -$5 for bank fees.

I can't say enough about Credit unions. I had an account at a bank for a couple years, got sick of the fees, so went to a Credit unionl.

No, we're not low on funds. At this rate, assuming no changes in the number of dues paying people or additional expenditures, we'll go broke in about 3 years. And one good fundraiser, or some small trickle of funds, would fix that.

But if we can make our biggest expenditure go away with no loss of services, that would be a bit healthier for our bank account.

Ya community credit union on adeline at ashby.
As for Cal sponsoring, it takes a student from the school. It might be the way to go, but it might be incompatible with non-profit status, but that might not matter for ws.

And I am going to be a student this coming school year so I will see what options are open for already formed clubs.
