VIP:

VIP Passes will be offered in tiers:

VOIDSHORE Platinum VIP ($120) = 5 Passes available

- Weekend pass

- Priority Entry (front of line and early setup/check in allowed)

- Custom plate headband (including color, name and title on the ends, and your choice of black symbol on the front!)

- Ability to hang their banner or device in the courtyard.

- Choice of additional honor or infamy points

- VIP reserved parking options*

- VIP table access (place settings, table decor, seat cushions) and meal service first if meal plan is purchased.

- The option to create or advise on ONE monster for the event (War Steward discretion) playable by you or unleashed upon the event for 1-3 games/challenges depending on level chosen.

- Ability to create ONE magical item for use by the VIP member during the entire event (With exception for a couple games. Event Steward and War Steward discretion.)

NOTE: Gate/Autocrats will be arriving around 2pm on Thursday May 8th. VIPs can arrive after 2:30 PM to begin confirming spots and check in with gate as soon as it is operational.

*Parking spot selection will be offered by tiers then those first purchased. (I.e; The last platinum purchased is offered before the first gold purchased.)

The Story So Far:

In Lord of the Five Rings (L5R), the realm of Rokugan is a fantasy land inspired by feudal Japan, filled with noble Great Clans—like the Crab, Crane, Lion, Phoenix and Spider—who vie for power under the Emperor. The spiritual world is integral in L5R, with kami (elemental spirits) aiding Shugenja priests in wielding magic. Clan rivalries, mystical forces, and survival struggles define Rokugan’s world. Darkshore will bring this world to life
creatively and interactively. 

The Scorpion Clan's intentions often remain veiled, with their every move an enigmatic blend of loyalty and manipulation. While they may declare themselves servants of the Empire, many believe their ruthless tactics serve a hidden purpose beyond duty—a thirst for control, perhaps, or a secret, sacred knowledge that could shift the balance of power in Rokugan.
 
In the Badlands, opportunistic forces rise, eager to exploit the Empire’s disarray. Bandits, mercenaries, and outlaw samurai gather, sensing that the chaos in Rokugan could be their chance to seize land and power. These factions view the Scorpion Clan’s subterfuge as both an opening and a threat—either to be opposed or, in some cases, used to their own ends.
 
Meanwhile, the creeping shadows of Maho-tsukai and dark powers inch ever closer, corrupting minds and hearts. As rumors spread that the ancient, forbidden Fifth Element could grant ultimate power over the Spirit World, a temptation arises within the Empire itself. Some in Rokugan argue that wielding this power could purify the land of shadow once and for all, while others warn that embracing it could doom Rokugan to darkness forever.
 
Each Great Clan must decide: will they unite to purge the shadow that lurks within, or will they allow ambition and the promise of forbidden power to tear them apart? The course they choose will shape Rokugan’s destiny.

 

 
updates/clarifications
The honor/infamy points system is still in the works between the Quest and War Stewards. We very intentionally wanted to know how many sets of extra points would be given our before finalizing the system so we can appropriately balance it. I've made it very clear that the quests/cultural events should make it very possible to win regardless of starting points of VIP players - So it's not that much of a bump.
As for the magic items and monsters, I did leave that more vague because the War Steward will be trusted to balance these. For magic items, the vision is moreso minor magic items - I.e; A dagger that always can be poisoned. A shield that can harden despite class. Each VIP will need to propose what they'd use, and we'll permit them after review.
For monsters, generally the idea is "Choose a high level monster and you can only play it for one game/event, likely as THE monster hunted in the crucible rather than a full game." (The crucible will be an all weekend optional gladiator pit with rotating events). Choose a lower level monster? You have a pass to play it in 3 full scale battle games.
